Cub Scout Pack 3177 is chartered by Holy Family Parish in Stow, Ohio. The program is designed for boys and girls that are in the first through fifth grades. Cub Scouts is a family-centered program that will help your child grow up to be self-reliant, dependable, and confident.

Parents, leaders and organizations work together to support boys and girls with these aims in Cub Scouting:

  1. Character Development
  2. Spiritual Growth
  3. Good Citizenship
  4. Sportsmanship and Fitness
  5. Family Understanding
  6. Respectful Relationships
  7. Personal Achievement
  8. Friendly Service
  9. Fun and Adventure
  10. Preparation for Scouts BSA

Each scout is part of a Cub Scout Den of about 8 scouts that meets 2 to 3 times a month. Den meetings provide a focused time for learning new things, going on field trips, and having fun with kids in their grade.  Each den is led by a volunteer adult leader and an adult assistant. Parents are expected to attend with younger scouts as they complete activities and learn about their community.  Activities may include field trips to the library, fire station, police station, or visits from community leaders. Young Cub Scouts also explore our wonderful network of parks through hikes and twice a year have the opportunity to attend a family campout at historic Camp Manatoc. Older Cub Scouts engage in their community and events may even include teaming up with local Scouts BSA troops. Older scouts help to to lead events at pack family campouts and have the opportunity to camp throughout the year.

In addition to regular den meetings, all the dens gather monthly for a Pack 3177 Pack Meeting.  Pack meetings are family events that usually have a theme (Carnival Games, Christmas Party, Cake Baking Contest, Pinewood Derby, Blue & Gold Banquet, Arrow of Light graduation... to name a few) and include a time to acknowledge scout achievements during the month. Expect the scouts to also perform skits and everyone to join in memorable songs during pack meetings.

Pack meetings are run by the Cubmaster with support from the Pack Committee.  Pack 3177 leaders are volunteers that welcome assistance.  Pack 3177 leaders typically have children in the pack and they are living the same hectic schedule that you are.  All leaders have completed mandatory youth leadership training and thorough background checks.  Please never hesitate to reach out to Pack 3177 leaders for help, or to offer help.

The pack is sponsored by Holy Family Parish and they ensure that the pack operates within the guidelines and policies of both the Diocese of Cleveland and the Boy Scouts of America.

You do not have to be a member of Holy Family Parish or be Catholic to join. Pack 3177 is a vibrant community group and we have scouts from all of our local schools.  We are active in Stow and surrounding communities; you should not be surprised to find more than a few familiar faces in the pack.

If your son or daughter is interested in joining please contact Jason Ehrhardt, Cubmaster, CubmasterPack3177@gmail.com or 330-607-8923. Or, register online through BeaScout.org

We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting!
